SecureData opens Tech City centre to drive R&D
New innovation centre designed to recruit new staff and boost research in threat detection
Security VAR SecureData has opened a new innovation centre for research and development in threat detection and analysis in London's Tech City.
The centre will also host SecureData's Academy which aims to recruit and train technical and commercial staff for the security player.
Etienne Greeff, SecureData's chief executive, said he hopes the Shoreditch location will attract new recruits to the firm.
"Basing the innovation centre in the heart of east London's vibrant tech scene will have a huge impact on our recruitment drive as we look to build on the unrivalled depth and breadth of security expertise our clients have come to expect," he said.
Cybersecurity experts from SecureData's subsidiary SensePost – an information security services provider – will also be based in the Tech City facility, and will research and test new vulnerabilities.
Greeff added that innovation is key to what his company is doing.
"We are continually responding to new and emerging threats and must invest in new routes to stay ahead of attackers by adopting more offensive security measures," he said.
"Innovation is central to our strategy of delivering enhanced security solutions that ensure our clients receive the best risk assessment, threat detection, and protection of critical assets available on the market today, as well as the right response to remediate security issues effectively."
Headquartered in Maidstone, SecureData saw its revenues jump 20 per cent to £27.2m for its financial year ending 31 July 2014.
