Welcome to Miami: Printerland opens office in US

Reseller Printerland has announced its plans to open a US office in Miami, in a move it describes as a "natural progression".

Speaking to CRN, James Kight (pictured below), Printerland's managing director, said the decision to move to the US market was a reflection of its past overseas achievements.

"We did South Africa three years ago, and that has been a really successful bolt-on for us," he said. "So we are looking to move into the States now and we are in the later stages of finalising things. We have big key partners out there; Lexmark and Xerox, they have been really proactive with helping with distribution, the logistics and giving us an understanding of the US market."

Kight said Printerland is still deciding on an office location in Miami, and is hoping to recruit six or seven US staff to the new office. He anticipates it to be up and running within the next few months.

The Miami location was chosen because it gives Printerland the possibility to expand into the Latin American market in the future, according to Kight.

"We settled on Miami, as being on the east coast is key. But obviously it gives us the chance in the future to go into South America. The east coast is the gateway to Latin America and it will open up opportunities there in the future," he said.
