Intel Security hires ex-Cisco veteran to lead EMEA

Andrew Elder claims to have visited 100 countries in a decade on customer-service mission

Intel Security has poached former Cisco veteran Andrew Elder to lead its EMEA operations.

Elder (pictured) now holds the role of president of EMEA operations at Intel Security and reports directly to Scott Lovett, the firm's executive vice president of worldwide sales.

Elder joins from entertainment technology firm Rovi but before that spent 13 years at Cisco as its vice president of advanced technology and enterprise for emerging markets, where he led its go-to-market strategy for more than 130 countries.

He claims that he has visited more than 100 countries in the past decade on his mission to deliver top-notch customer service.

"Having lived in the Middle East, the Netherlands, the UK and the US, Elder is well versed in the unique challenges of many markets," Intel Security said.

Lovett added that Elder is well suited to the role.

"Andrew is an exceptional business leader with more than 25 years of experience with high-tech companies," he said. "His deep understanding of new technologies and the rapidly evolving cybersecurity landscape gives Elder the perspective and experience needed to help businesses overcome the seemingly incessant security challenges they face today."
