Violin Memory retunes management

IT veteran Said Ouissal appointed head of worldwide field operations

Violin Memory has today announced it has appointed Said Ouissal as its new head of worldwide field operations.

Ouissal has been at the flash storage player since April 2014, and his previous position was senior vice president of product management and strategy.

Prior to joining Violin, Ouissal was vice president for product management at Juniper Networks, and he has previously worked at Ericsson and Alcatel-Lucent. In total, he has worked in the IT industry for 17 years.

Kevin DeNuccio, Violin's chief executive, said Ouissal is well placed to drive the business forward.

"Ouissal's technical acumen and customer engagement experience will provide our global salesforce with strategic IT insight shared by very few in our industry," he said.

"As Violin delivers its all-flash technology solutions, replacing traditional primary, disk-based storage in the datacentre, Ouissal is uniquely qualified to align customer requirements with the transition to an all-flash datacentre."

Ouissal is set to replace Tom Mitchell, who will remain at the company and work alongside Ouissal, Violin said.
