Avnet cuts ribbon on converged infrastructure practice
New division will help partners cash in on trend, distie claims
Avnet has launched a converged infrastructure practice in the UK which it claims will help its partners cash in on a growing trend.
The new practice will focus on supporting partners to deliver pre-architected and vendor-validated IT infrastructure and will feature technology from vendors such as EMC, Cisco, HP, IBM, NetApp and Oracle.
The distributor claims the tech area is a key priority for the firm and said it can help partners speed up the delivery of core services to customers while reducing their bills.
Avnet's senior vice president for northern EMEA Miriam Murphy said the arrival of the practice was an important milestone for the firm.
"The UK market for converged infrastructure is an important growth area for the channel and a priority for Avnet," she said. "We have invested in both our technical and business expertise, established a converged infrastructure centre of excellence and have an unrivalled portfolio of suppliers for converged and hyperconverged infrastructure solutions to support business partners in this market.
"Avnet's skilled workforce can assemble, test and preconfigure converged systems to enable resellers to deploy business solutions rapidly, leading to shortened sales cycles and faster business growth. Our focus now is to provide channel partners with information and support to enable them to take advantage of this opportunity."
