Channel recruiter hits wall

Channel Recruitment Solutions closes its doors

Channel Recruitment Solutions (CRS) has ceased trading with clients and is in the process of closing down, CRN understands.

Although the company appears to still be trading on Companies House, CRN understands the doors to the Northampton office closed a few weeks ago. CRS could not be reached for comment by phone on the numerous occasions CRN attempted to contact the firm.

The company employed around five staff and had between 50 and 60 clients across the channel.

Over the last year, the firm has talked up its growth and expansion plans.

One source told CRN the company folded because it "wasn't being managed as well as it should have been and it resulted in people wanting to leave".

Last month, CRS sales director Zoe Albans left the firm to become a managing consultant at recruiter Wallace Hind.

She told CRN she believes the firm's trading days are over.

"CRS was trading for six or seven years and did phenomenally well and were real specialists in the channel," she said. "From that point of view it is a really sad ending. Any other recruitment firm could have bought the business but it would not have been a channel specialist, it would have been generalist.

"I think that what we all achieved was fantastic and it is really, really sad it has come to an end. But between me and the other partners, we are all going on to bigger and better things for ourselves."
