Infortrend on channel recruitment push after Beta signing
Storage vendor looking for 30 new resellers after it signs up Beta Distribution in late 2014
Storage vendor Infortrend is launching a recruitment push and looking to take on another 20 to 30 new resellers in the UK in the next six months.
Founded in 1993, Infortrend specialises in the SMB market via a 100 per cent channel model and counts IBM, EMC and NetApp as its major competitors.
Chris Earlam, senior account manager at Infortrend, said: "We have the history of 23 years, the legacy of Infortrend, we have the products and the end-customer prestige; now we just need the new resellers to continue the incremental growth we have been enjoying.
"We are looking for 20 to 30 [new] key resellers to work with to begin with and we can offer them as much technical support as they need, and marketing as well."
He said Infortrend is looking to take on a mixture of VARs to take on, ranging from boutique specialised players to some of the bigger resellers.
In the second half of 2014, Infortrend signed up Beta Distribution to add to its current distribution partner Hammer in the UK, and David Treadwell, business development manager at Beta, said this recruitment drive is going to be a key focus for the disite.
"Infortrend is a key product range for us and it will be for the rest of this year. Having a brand of this calibre ties us closer to the key VAR relationships we already have. It has really been a brand that the guys [resellers] are buying into as an alternative to the likes of NetApp and EMC," Treadwell said.
Infortrend's partner programme includes MDF and deal registration and Earlam said the vendor has introduced evaluation units earlier this year which gives partners the chance to let end customers try the products before they buy them.
