Cisco CEO reveals new exec line-up

Chuck Robbins says his next-generation executive leadership team will lead the company into the digital age

Cisco has shaken up the team of executives who new boss Chuck Robbins said he hopes will make the networking giant faster and more innovative.

Robbins was elevated to chief executive from his position as senior vice president of worldwide field operations, and will begin the new role on 26 July.

CRN reported earlier this week that Re/code claimed the company's CTO and chief strategy officer Padmasree Warrior would be leaving the exec line-up, and has been replaced by Hilton Romanski.

Robbins (pictured) said in the announcement that Warrior will join senior vice president of services Edzard Overbeek as a strategic adviser.

Two other executives, Rob Lloyd and Gary Moore, have stepped down and are leaving the company. Lloyd is receiving a $2.2m (£1.4m) payout and Moore $2.3m plus considerable amounts of stock, according to Business Insider.

This "next-generation executive leadership team" is a mix of Cisco veterans such as senior vice president of general council Mark Chandler and senior vice president of services Joe Cozzolino, as well as newcomers such as Dr Ruba Borno who has come over from the Boston Consulting Group and studied for a PhD with Intel.

Other members of the exec team have come from such companies as HP, JP Morgan and Motorola, all of who whom Robbins insists have "the capabilities, accomplishments and values required" to lead Cisco into the future.

He said on a blog post: "This is a remarkable team, with a diverse set of experiences, expertise and backgrounds to accelerate our innovation and execution, simplify how we do busiess, drive operational rigour in all we do and inspire our amazing employees to be the best they can be."

The complete new team of Cisco executives, are:

- Ruba Borno, vice president of growth initiatives and chief of staff

- Mark Chandler, senior vice president and general counsel

- Joe Cozzolino, senior vice president of services

- Chris Dedicoat, senior vice president of worldwide sales

- Rebecca Jacoby, senior vice president of operations

- Francine Katsoudas, chief people officer

- Kelly Kramer, executive vice president and chief financial officer

- Pankaj Patel, executive vice president, chief development officer

- Hilton Romanski, chief technology and strategy officer

- Karen Walker, chief marketing officer
