Huawei launches new partner programme

Vendor says it wants to work alongside its partners to offer joint services to customers

Huawei has announced a new channel partner programme which aims to build an ecosystem that will see the vendor work alongside its partners to deliver joint services to customers.

Raymond Lau, Huawei's president of partners and alliances, told CRN the firm's channel is not just about resellers and distributors, but an "entire ecosystem that involves distributors, resellers, alliances, solution partners and many more".

Vincent Pang, president of Huawei's western European region, said: "It is essential that all parties across the ICT ecosystem work together to jointly facilitate the transformation towards a fully digitised business environment."

The Chinese vendor also recently signed an agreement furthering its collaboration with VMware in its mission to create a digitised business environment.

VMware's knowledge and experience in cloud and virtualisation technology will be paired with Huawei's list of partners – which it calls its alliance ecosystem – in the name of creating a "better-connected world".

Kevin Liu, vice president of western Europe partners and alliances and enterprise business, said: "In Europe our main focus is to team up with VMware to leverage each other's strengths."
