Wasp makes a beeline for Exertis

Distribution giant Exertis is aiming to help barcode vendor Wasp fly higher in the UK with its partnership deal.

Under the agreement, Exertis will offer the vendor’s full range of products, including packaged software, hardware and accessories.

The vendor claims VARs will be able to make margins between 15 and 20 per cent on its products, which are primarily aimed at smaller businesses and to fulfil a growing demand for auto-ID technology.

Jamie Brothwell, general manager of the print business unit at Exertis UK, said: ““Wasp represents an exciting opportunity for Exertis UK as we focus on complementary technology products to our traditional printing business. Its presence within the public sector and movement toward mobile solutions make Wasp a great fit. Adding it to our existing print portfolio has created a buzz within the team.”

Hugh Furness, UK Sales Director of Wasp added: “Exertis is the UK’s fastest growing distributor for IT products and is a key growth partner for us. We have been in talks together during the last year and the relationship has now come together. We feel very positive about this agreement; it will bring Wasp products to a whole new segment of customers in the UK and beyond.”
