ANS eats up deal with sandwich maker

ANS bags 'multimillion-pound' deal for networking and managed services on 25 Greencore sites

ANS has won a "multimillion-pound" managed services and networking contract with sandwich maker Greencore.

The five-year deal will see ANS provide Greencore with LAN and wireless to all 25 of the food manufacturer's sites, completing the installation of them, as well as delivering 24/7 managed services.

Paul Sweeney, ANS chief executive, said having Cisco Gold status was key to winning the contract.

"It's absolutely the business that we are looking for. They have gone out into the project looking for a managed services provider that was a Cisco Gold partner and has the capability to offer a fully managed contract," he said.

"That's what they wanted, and that's why we were in the mix. It's a five-year deal and this is exactly the type of work we are looking to build the business on."

Sweeney would not divulge how much the contract is worth, but said it is in seven figures.

"It's a nice contract and it goes within our growth ambitions; it's right in our sweet spot," he said. "We are supplying a lot of Cisco equipment, we are supplying all the 24/7 services and managing all the changes on it over the next five years."

News of the contract follows ANS securing a three-year deal with Skipton Building Society earlier this year.
