Henry Matthews pops back up in the channel
Former Northamber MD is now chairman of ambitious cloud telephony firm CloudTelephones
Less than three years after retiring from the helm of Northamber, Henry Matthews is back in the channel with ambitious plans for his new role as chairman of CloudTelephones.
The firm, which also boasts DMSL founder John Carter as its managing director, offers voice, data and mobile products and services, plus billing via its in-house billing platform to help partners manage their customers' telephony costs efficiently.
Speaking to CRN, Matthews (pictured above) who started at the firm earlier this month, said: "I am going to use my experience in the industry to accelerate growth. I am going to look at how the company is structured and how it goes to market to recruit resellers.
"My job at Northamber meant I did everything, but in this role I don't need to worry about logistics as there is no stock. It is completely different. This is the new world. Companies pay a lot of money for their telephony system yet if they move office they lose it all and it is so expensive.
"Our technology is pay per seat and if you decide to move premises, you can move and take your numbers with you, pretty much anywhere in the world. I am looking forward to the challenge."
Paul Gibson (pictured below), sales director at CloudTelephones, said its resellers will still own the customer. "We provide the billing, quoting technical services, and telephony solutions that smaller resellers might not be able to offer, yet we are putting recurring revenue into the dealers' pockets and they retain the customers. This is a massive growth market and a great opportunity for the channel."
He added that the business, which is all portal driven, allows resellers to dual brand both the billing and portal with CloudTelephones and claim the benefits for all the value-added services offered. "Everything is geared towards making things easy for our resellers."
John Carter added: "We are all channel people, we don't do direct. Cloud is taking off and the real reason is that the connectivity is becoming available. This is about bringing everything together and giving customers everything they need."
