Danwood and Kyocera put 3D printing on the curriculum
Danwood partners with printer manufacturer Kyocera to bring CubePro 3D printers to UK schools
Danwood has joined forces with printer manufacturer Kyocera to put 3D printers into UK schools.
The partnership will see print reseller Danwood offer Kyocera's CubePro 3D printers along with support services to colleges and schools in a move it claims makes "3D printing an affordable option for the classroom".
Andy Louch, vendor business manager at Danwood, said: "The workplace of the future is changing and this makes it vital for educational establishments to equip students with the skills and experiences they need to embrace the working world.
"By providing innovative technologies such as the CubePro, Danwood can help schools and colleges to create the classroom of the future and benefit from streamlined processes, sophisticated document storage options, better print facilities and integrated educational software."
Nigel Allen, Kyocera UK marketing director, said: "Danwood has a well-established and strong reputation for customer service in the education sector and the addition of 3D printers into its education solutions portfolio makes for a compelling offering."
A recent report from Canalys predicted the nascent global 3D printing market will grow from $3.3bn (£2.2bn) in 2014 to $5.2bn this year, before growing to $20.2bn by 2019.
