VAR scores charity goal with help of football stars

Altodigital hosts corporate football match at Wembley

Reseller Altodigital has raised thousands of pounds for charity with the help of a group of ex-professional footballers.

Former Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham stars including Jason McAteer, Don Hutchison, Perry Groves, Paul Walsh and Steve Sedgley were among those taking part in a corporate football tournament organised by the VAR which was held at Wembley Stadium.

Fifteen teams comprising Altodigital staff, suppliers and customers pitted their skills against each other for the charity event.

The VAR raised more than £5,000 for the Mo Farah Foundation.

The cash was raised through fundraising and a charity auction, with lots including signed, framed Liverpool and Arsenal shirts and Mo Farah memorabilia.

Richard Hadden, regional director at Altodigital, said: "The generosity of the legends and the corporate teams was overwhelming and we raised a fantastic amount of money for the charity. I'd just like to say a massive thank you to everyone involved - from those donating the lots, to those who bought them and played in the tournament.

"We selected the Mo Farah Foundation as our dedicated charity as we feel the work it does, both in the UK and in Somalia and Kenya, is truly inspirational.

Farah said: "Every penny raised will go towards helping kids and, for me, I just want to see happy kids."
