Federer to win Wimbledon, BI vendor forecasts

Yellowfin claims "all indicators" point to a victory for the Swiss after crunching data on four semi-finalists

Business intelligence vendor Yellowfin has predicted that Roger Federer will lift the Wimbledon trophy for an eighth time after crunching data on the four men's semi-finalists.

In what could spell bad news for Andy Murray in his match against the Swiss this afternoon, Yellowfin claimed "all indicators" point to a Federer victory at the All England Club.

Court time is one factor working in Federer's favour, Yellowfin concluded, with the Swiss having spent just 471 minutes out on the grass so far this tournament, compared with 640 minutes or more for each of his three rivals.

Federer is also top dog when it comes to performance, the business intelligence vendor found, winning 58.8 per cent of points played, compared with next closest rival Richard Gasquet, on 55.2 per cent.

When it comes to his ratio of winners to unforced errors, Federer has a ratio of 2.9 winners to errors, some way ahead of Novak Djokovic (2.5), Andy Murray (2.3) and Gasquet (2.2).

Federer has the best stats when it comes to both serving and returning, Yellowfin added. The world number two has won 82 per cent of points played in his service games, compared with next-best performer Djokovic on 74 per cent, and has won 25 games returning serve, joint first with Gasquet, despite playing fewer games.
