Exertis bolts on Vasco's 2FA to cloud service

Distributor now offers two-factor authentication and firewall services to partners

Exertis has extended its cloud proposition to include its partner Vasco Security's authentication offering, which will now be available as a service to the distributor's resellers.

Vasco's two-factor authentication (2FA) technology will be available on a pay-as-you-go basis when requested by resellers, according to Grahame Smee, managing director of Exertis VAD Solutions.

"If the partner wants to sell that service, they just specify how many users they want to add and then it allows the reseller to sell that service as if it were their own. So it allows our partners to act as a cloud partner of ours and sell any of our as-a-service products, whether it's firewall or authentication, and enjoy the benefits of a recurring revenue stream," he said.

Smee said the authentication service is a "natural add-on" to its existing firewall as-a-service, and indicated there will be others to come.

"The need to have a multi-layered approach to security is well accepted and using a form of 2FA is one element to this. Unfortunately, password failure is all too common and this type of service provides additional security and peace of mind to all types of user," he added.

Chicago-headquartered Vasco Security was placed by Gartner as a leader in its magic quadrant for user authentication last year.

The 2FA service will be available via the Exertis partner portal to its registered partners.
