Scots unveil £20m cloud and devices framework

National Framework for Cloud Computing and Proprietary Devices to run for four years

An IT framework expected to be worth between £15m and £20m is up for grabs.

The Scottish government recently published a tender for the National Framework for Cloud Computing and Proprietary Devices, which is expected to run for four years.

"The Scottish ministers, acting through Scottish Procurement, seek to establish a single-supplier framework agreement for the provision of cloud computing and proprietary client devices and associated services," the tender document claims.

The framework forms part of the Scottish digital strategy which was set out in 2012.

The plan, which the government describes as a "key part" of its public service reform programme, aims to ensure the Scottish public sector bodies collaborate to become more efficient.

"Digital technology provides a foundation for public services that meet the needs of the user – that means responsive services where organisations are working together across sectors," the government claims.
