Supermarket sweep for VAR Trust Systems
Three supermarket contract wins see Trust Systems expecting to beat 2015 revenue target
Boosted by recent contract wins with three major supermarket chains, VAR Trust Systems is on track to push past its expected revenue target for 2015.
The Cirencester-based reseller, which partners with NetApp, HP and Cisco, anticipated sales of £4.8m this year, but thanks to three supermarket contract wins, it now expects to do in excess of £6m, according to commercial director Mike Dowson.
"One [supermarket deal] is deployed, and the other two are starting to be, but it means the revenue projections are very much on track. We could hit [our revenue targets] beforehand," he said.
Dowson said he could not name the supermarkets, but said the deals were around Wi-Fi connectivity and management of the networking. He also indicated the contracts will be worth collectively over £6m for the firm, over the next three years.
The reseller has also been recruiting, taking on three new recruits to its project team in the past few months and it is looking to hire another five sales staff.
Dowson said the firm is also seeing strong growth in its managed services.
"We have also been having great success in our managed services; that's aiding the growth and it's certainly not slacking behind the scenes. Things like our back-up as-a-service, infrastructure-as-a-service are really being highly productive at the same time."
Previously, Dowson said to CRN that the firm is hoping to hit £12m in sales by the end of 2016, but now he said he thinks the VAR will do that before the end of next year.
For its last financial year ending December 2014, the firm's sales were just over £3m.
