Guidance Software sales director heads for exit

Ken Yearwood departs security player after one year at the company

Guidance Software has waved goodbye to Ken Yearwood, its sales director for UK, northern Europe and South Africa.

When approached, a representative from Guidance Software confirmed Yearwood's departure but said the company did not want to comment.

One source told CRN Nick Pollard, current UK general manager at Guidance Software, has been promoted to fill Yearwood's position.

CRN understands that Yearwood departed last week.

Founded in 1997 with headquarters in California, Guidance Software delivers end-point threat intelligence to find cyberthreats and then helps remediate the attacks.

Last week Guidance Software announced its latest quarterly results, which saw it record a Q2 net loss of $3.5m (£2.24m), on sales of $27.5m, which were up one per cent year on year, for the three months to 30 June.

Yearwood, who joined the firm in August 2014, was previously regional sales director at Websense for three years.

Prior to that he held posts at storage networking vendor Brocade Communications and information management firm Iron Mountain Digital.

Alex Teh, joint managing director of Infinigate – which recently partnered with Guidance Software – said: "Ken [Yearwood] is a good guy, he has been in the business for a long time, and I'm sure he will be sorely missed by those who work with him at Guidance. But I'm sure he will pop up in the channel somewhere soon."
