HP unveils new UK channel chief after Boshoff heads off
Neil Sawyer takes the reins as commercial channel director, as Paul Boshoff leaves HP to 'pursue other endeavours'
Former Samsung channel boss Neil Sawyer (pictured) has stepped into the role of HP UK and Ireland commercial channel director after the New Zealand exec lined up for the job left the vendor.
Back in April, HP announced that former New Zealand and South African exec Paul Boshoff would be transferring to the role in the summer, as a replacement for former incumbent Damian Cusick.
According to his LinkedIn profile, Sawyer took over the role this month after he spent eight months as strategic partner sales manager, looking after Platinum and Top Gold partners.
He also spent five years at HP between 2003 and 2008 as marketing and go-to-market strategy manager before leaving for Samsung. Before rejoining HP, Sawyer was head of enterprise channel sales and corporate strategy at Samsung, where he looked after the vendor’s B2B IT partner sales operation for the UK and Ireland.
In a statement, George Brasher, managing director, HP UK&I, said: "We can confirm that Paul Boshoff will no longer be transitioning to HP UK&I and will be leaving HP to pursue other endeavours. On behalf of the company we want to thank Paul for his 11 years of service and contributions and wish him all the very best.
"We are delighted to announce that we have appointed Neil Sawyer as commercial channel director for HP, UK&I. Neil has a wealth of channel experience, most recently as our strategic partner sales manager, and is ideally placed to lead our channel business as we embark on an exciting new chapter."
