Cisco makes 'significant' changes to UK business

Irish operation now taken under the wing of the UK business, Richard Roberts confirms

Cisco has announced its Irish operation will now be taken under the wing of its UK organisation as it outlines some "significant" changes to its UK business.

From now on, all elements of the Partner business will be combined into one unit "to drive synergies and focus", and all the Commercial team will also be unified.

Last week, CRN reported that former Services boss Angela Whitty would take responsibility for UK Partner business, and today Cisco confirmed the move.

"Who better to have in this role than someone who has successfully led the evolution of our UK and Ireland Services business within Cisco for almost two decades?" said Cisco's UK managing director for partner and commercial sales Richard Roberts (pictured).

As well as Whitty's move, Roberts announced that Sean Collins will lead the UK's Commercial business. Roberts will retain his role leading both the partner and commercial segments.

Roberts also announced that the once-separate Irish business would come under the wing of the UK business.

"In recent years Ireland has come through recession to become one of Europe's most vibrant technology hubs," he said. "Home to a number of technology multinationals, Ireland has become a hotbed of innovation and creativity, attributes echoed by the Cisco team based there. Lots can be learned from the work carried out in Ireland."

Irish country leader Adam Grennan will become "a central member" of Roberts' leadership team.

"This new-look team gives every confidence that our partner community is set for an even brighter, more profitable future," Roberts said.
