UK ahead of the curve on Windows 10 adoption
New operating system accounts for more than six per cent of OS market already, new stats show
The UK is leading the way when it comes to the adoption of Windows 10, according to new figures.
Statcounter claims that in the UK to date, Windows 10 already accounts for 6.09 per cent of the operating system market since being launched on 29 July.
The figures claim that the new OS is already more popular than Windows XP, which now has only a 3.57 per cent market share.
Statcounter arrived at its figures by cross-referencing web traffic operating servers.
Across Europe, Windows 10 accounts for 4.27 per cent of the market, while in North America, the figure stands at only at 3.83 per cent over the same period. In Asia, it has received a cooler response, with the OS accounting for just 1.78 per cent of share so far.
In the first 24 hours Windows 10 had been on the market, Microsoft said downloads of the new OS hit 14 million.
