VAR owner charged with fraud by Thames Valley Police
Owner of Quadsys, Paul Cox, arrested in March along with four other employees
The owner and managing director of reseller Quadsys, Paul Cox, has been charged with fraud offences, according to a statement from Thames Valley Police (TVP).
In March, TVP said it arrested five men from a property at Danebrook Court, Langford Lane, Kidlington - the same address as Quadsys' office.
TVP said it arrested the men under "conspiracy with others to commit computer misuse offence; unauthorised access with intent to commit or facilitate commission of further offences; conspiracy to steal from another; conspiracy to enter into / be concerned in the acquisition / retention / use or control of criminal property".
Yesterday, TVP revealed the five arrested men were Paul Cox, Alistair Barnard, Jon Townsend, Steve Davies and Paul Streeter. A glance at LinkedIn shows the men work at Quadsys, with Cox and Streeter both directors at the firm.
The men were charged with conspiracy to commit fraud by false representation, with Cox also charged with blackmail, according to a TVP statement.
The five individuals have been released on bail and will appear at Banbury Magistrates' Court on 7 September.
Oxfordshire-based Quadsys counts Sophos, Dell and HP among its vendor partners.
When approached a representative from Quadsys said no one was available to comment.
