Another Pure Storage exec defects to Kaminario

Fiona Moon follows Vince Blackall over to flash rival Kaminario as its EMEA marketing director

Another Pure Storage exec has defected to flash player Kaminario, this time in the form of Pure's former EMEA marketing director Fiona Moon, who will take on the same role at the rival.

Moon (pictured) is not the first Pure exec to join Kaminario in recent weeks, with Pure's previous EMEA channel director Vince Blackall jumping ship earlier this month.

Moon said that developing Kaminario's channel will be key to her role as EMEA marketing director.

"I am delighted to have recently joined Kaminario to run marketing as part of its fast-growing EMEA team. This is a very exciting and key time for the all-flash storage industry with continued and aggressive adoption of this disruptive technology by customers across the world," she said in a statement sent to CRN.

"I will be working with the Kaminario team to ensure that we continue to grow our brand, channel and customer footprint across EMEA and so increase our market share."

Moon left Pure in July and started at Kaminario on 17 August.

Prior to her time at Pure she was marketing director at storage vendor CommVault from 2007 to 2014. Before that she was an analyst relations manager at Symantec for two years.

Massachusetts-based Kaminario hit out at Pure in June with a blog that claimed Pure's new product announcement was "nothing new" and "not a game changer".

Earlier this month Pure filed for an IPO and revealed its financial results for the first time which showed its sales were growing strongly against big losses at the firm.

A representative from Pure said the company had no comment on the matter.
