Channel companies pepper Tech Track 100 list
Cloudreach takes 20th place while Maindec and ECS come in at 44th and 49th
A number of channel firms have appeared in the Sunday Times Tech Track 100 2015 , including the likes of Cloudreach, Maindec and ECS.
The Tech Track 100 list ranks Britain's top 100 private tech companies in terms of sales growth over the last three years.
In this year's league table Cloudreach achieved the highest rankings, coming in at number 20, with several other channel companies sitting further down the rankings.
Maindec – which recently won an £8m maintenance deal with the Scottish Government – was the next familiar channel face in the list behind the cloud services provider, taking 44th position.
ECS teetered on the edge of the top 50 companies in 49th place, just ahead of IT services provider peer Ideal Networks in 50th.
Last year’s Tech Track 100 saw Cloud Distribution shoot to fourth place, as sales hit £9.6m for 2013/14.
The VAD has just launched its own OEM hyperconverged product, hyperserV, aimed at SMEs, powered by storage vendor DataCore Software’s virtual SAN solution and using components from Microsoft and VMware.
IT services provider Empowered also made it onto the list at 59th and security vendor Avecto came 77th.
Paul Timms, managing director of Maindec, commented on his company's positioning in the list, saying: “We are delighted. It shows recognition of our hard work and honest ethos. Part of the process was demonstrating that it was not just this year, but we want to continue to grow and we have got commitment to grow.
"We have taken on apprentices and graduates, trying to fill our skills gap with bright, young and enthusiastic people, [and] we are happy to say we have found some good people.
"We are also working closely with our customers to make sure we carry on giving them a good service. We are not out there just trying to acquire people, and we are not desperate to be worth £100m; it’s just about [doing] the job properly."
