Synaxon new hire to drive UK partner recruitment
Membership boss will recruit new MSPs, resellers, vendors and disties to Synaxon's 620-strong member base
Synaxon has appointed a dedicated membership manager who will lead the six-strong customer service team looking after reseller and MSP members as well as vendor and distributor partners.
The channel service group’s new recruit, ex-Lima Networks' David Hodges, will be overseeing the recruitment of new members, as well as delivering services such as marketing packages and account management to existing members and partners.
Synaxon was introduced into the UK in 2009 by its German counterpart, helping vendors and distributors find routes to market and delivering services to resellers, which it says saves cost and helps them sell more.
Current members consist of corporate VARs, MSPs, retailers and system builders along with vendors such as Canon, Cisco and Kyocera, and distributors including Ingram Micro, Tech Data and Entatech.
Mike Barron, Synaxon’s UK channel director, told CRN: “ We have had a customer service team but no customer service manager as such. With the way we are recruiting and the amount of members we have, we needed extra resource. We have over 620 members now – and growing – so that is a lot of people to look after.”
The group’s UK managing director Derek Jones said Synaxon is ready to take its offering in the market to the next level, by introducing more members and suppliers to its community.
Barron added: “Seeing as it is a community, we haven’t put a figure on how many members we want. We just want to make sure everyone is aware that there is a community and we can help them buy better, sell more, reduce cost – which is our strapline – and we want to explain how we can do that.”
A number of future deals are in the pipeline, according to Barron, who said they will include some new distributors, plus new services that he says will help members enhance their business.
