CMS drives into The Bunker
Latest vendor signing designed to complement existing Commvault partnership
CMS Distribution says its latest vendor signing, data storage vendor The Bunker, reflects its desire to become more software-focused and complements its existing relationship with Commvault.
According to the distributor, The Bunker provides ultra-secure hosting, cloud, colocation and IT services from within "the UK's most secure facilities".
Tierna Henry, group software manager at CMS Distribution, said the partnership will not only bolster CMS' security and storage footprint but also sees CMS take one of its first steps into cloud.
"For some time we have had clients asking us for an off-premise Commvault solution and finally we have the answer," she said.
"With The Bunker's 'Ultra Secure' strapline and plentiful certifications to boot, they can proudly boast ownership of some of the most secure IT services in the UK. In agreement with our partner Commvault, we will be talking to all our existing clients to offer this complement."
CMS recently inked a partnership with security and backup vendor Barracuda Networks and has several more security-focused vendors "waiting in the wings", Henry said.
"We will be focusing more and more on our software portfolio," she added.
Peregrine Newton, chief executive of The Bunker, added: "CMS Distribution is a well-respected and established leading distributor in the storage market. Their product knowledge, technical expertise and relationship with key resellers makes them the perfect fit for The Bunker.
"The Bunker are looking forward to working with CMS Distribution, as our complementary secure cloud storage solutions offer great opportunity for resellers to quickly and simply add recurring cloud-based revenue to their existing and new customer."
