Actual Virtual inks deal with Deepnet Security

Thin-client specialist becomes second UK distie for two-factor authentication vendor

Distributor Actual Virtual has signed up two-factor authentication vendor Deepnet Security as it expands its offering into identity management.

Deepnet Security provides multi-factor authentication and identity management to web and cloud applications for customers including Ladbrokes and Flybe. The agreement will see Actual Virtual sell its Deepnet DualShield, which puts together a range of two-factor authentication methods into one platform.

Actual Virtual, which specialises in the thin-client market, becomes the vendor's second UK distributor, with Redcoin its other existing partner.

Simon Greer, Actual Virtual's managing director, said the new vendor will complement its specialisation in desktop virtualisation, and "the two solutions together open a really good up-sell and cross-sell opportunity".

Greer said he will market the vendor to more than 300 partners and claimed Actual Virtual intends to reach out to a number of Citrix and Parallels partners with this new signing.

"We have been added to the line-up to try to drum up business in the UK," he said.

He added he was attracted to Deepnet Security because of the value it offers and the versatility of its product set.

Umesh Lad, commercial director of Deepnet Security, said the partnership with Actual Virtual is designed to increase its coverage in the UK.

"We at Deepnet Security are very pleased to welcome Actual Virtual on board as partners and key distributors of our network and application security products," he said.

"By joining forces with Actual Virtual, which boasts a complementary product set and strong market presence in both the UK and Ireland, we are confident that we will be able to reach an even wider audience, providing resellers with dynamic, high-quality solutions that can be effortlessly integrated with their existing offerings to customers."
