VMware on hunt for new EMEA channel boss

Scott Dodds joins Ultima on 20 October

VMware is on the hunt for a new EMEA channel boss after its current leader announced plans to leave last week.

Scott Dodds is set to join reseller Ultima as its chief executive on 20 October, as CRN revealed on Friday. He joined VMware in February from Microsoft.

VMware said a replacement for Dodds is yet to be decided as an "an ongoing search" is under way. In the meantime, VMware's senior director of channel and alliance for EMEA Jean-Philippe Barleaza will take over Dodds' responsibilities.

In a statement, VMware added: "Scott Dodds has decided to leave VMware to pursue new endeavours. We thank Scott for his contribution over the last year and wish him well for the future."

Ultima's current CEO Max McNeill told CRN he approached Dodds as he "only had one person in mind" to replace him as he moves on to become chairman.
