Logicalis banks on Jersey acquisition

Latest buy Lekscom counts Lloyds TSB and KPMG among its customers

Logicalis has boosted its presence in the Channel Islands by snapping up Jersey-based service provider Lekscom.

Founded in 2006, Lekscom partners with Cisco and delivers networking and communications services for customers including KPMG and Lloyds TSB.

The deal - for an undisclosed amount - will improve Logicalis' managed and professional services in the Channel Islands, a company statement said.

This is not the first time Logicalis has bought a firm in the Channel Islands, having acquired Jersey-based SMB hosting specialist iConsult in 2013. The firm also has a datacentre in Guernsey.

Mark Rogers, CEO of Logicalis Group, said he is excited by Lekscom's customer base.

"Logicalis' acquisition of Lekscom enables us to acquire some specialist technical Cisco skills for our Channel Islands operation which services a number of highly important offshore clients," he said.

"It brings some new and important customer relationships to Logicalis with significant annuity revenues. For those customers, we will be able to demonstrate our strength as an international IT solutions and managed services provider and deliver a wider breadth of networking, datacentre and security services to support their business."

News of the deal follows the appointment of ex-CEO of Tensator Group, Ben Gale, as Logicalis' new UK managing director last month.
