HP unveils post-split channel programmes
HP Inc gets Partner First programme, while HP Enterprise's new channel offering will be Partner Ready
HP has taken the wraps off the new partner programmes which will accompany HP Inc and HP Enterprise once the split takes place next month.
HP's current Partner One programme will be no more, as each soon-to-be-created segment gets its own channel offering.
HP Inc - which will specialise in printers and personal computing - will get a new Partner First programme, while HP Enterprise - which will focus on hardware and services - gets a Partner Ready programme.
In an announcement made this morning, HP unveiled certain elements of each new programme, but specific details remain under wraps. They duo will come into force on 1 November, when the split officially happens.
HP Inc's Partner First programme will offer the channel "comprehensive services and sales support", according to HP, as well as Partner First Services, which it claims will "enable partners to maximise business opportunities".
New marketing tools will be made available to partners under Partner First, as well as streamlined programmes, tools, and "processes that deliver innovation and consistency across all markets and geographies".
Don Weisler, who will become chief executive of HP Inc, said partners will cash in once the split happens.
"With more than 80 per cent of our revenue coming through the channel, partners are critical to our success," he said. "Separation is a catalyst. As we create a new HP, we have a focused strategy that will enable our partners to provide innovative products and solutions that amaze customers. Together, we will capitalise on new growth opportunities and quickly adapt to market and customer dynamics."
HP offered up more details about Partner Ready then Partner First, boasting a "brand-new, best-in-class" partner locator, a new Planned Marketing Development Fund programme and a Partner Ready International Programme, which it claims provides streamlined export authorisation, global pricing, and simplified programme requirements to partners serving multinational customers.
"Enterprises are focused more than ever on business outcomes in today's increasingly competitive business climate," said Meg Whitman, HP's chief executive.
"As we look towards day one of HP Enterprise, we remain committed to the channel and helping partners accelerate growth through delivering comprehensive technology solutions to meet today's customer demand. We are thrilled to start this new chapter together."
