AWS adds trio of competencies

Cloud Migration, DevOps and IoT added to AWS Partner Network

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has revamped its partner structure, adding three new partner competencies to its AWS Partner Network (APN).

These new competencies are DevOps - software development and integration - Cloud Migration and the Internet of Things (IoT).

The new DevOps competency has launched with 27 partners who provide software services that deliver "DevOps principles" using the AWS platform.

The Cloud Migration competency will kick-off in the coming months, and it will "enable and support partners who have deep expertise and experience helping customers migrate applications and entire datacentres to AWS".

The IoT competency will also launch soon, for partners who provide IoT-based services and solutions. These partners will benefit from marketing support, AWS roadmap briefings and access to funding around customer proof-of-concepts.

Dorothy Copeland, head of global partner programmes at AWS, said: "In the past year, we've seen that, on average, AWS Premier, Competency, and Managed Service Provider partners have grown their AWS revenue more than a hundred per cent faster than the rest of the ecosystem.

"Our new DevOps, Cloud Migration, and IoT Competencies will offer even more opportunities for partners to deepen their AWS capabilities and grow their businesses."

In April, AWS revealed it is a $5bn (£3.27bn) company.
