Microsoft UK crowns new channel chief

Martin Gregory replaces Linda Rendleman, who returns to the US

Microsoft has appointed a new channel leader in the UK as former boss Linda Rendleman returns to the US to take up a partner-focused role there.

Martin Gregory (pictured, above), who worked at Microsoft in Australia for 20 years before running his own partner-focused business, has been appointed as partner business and development director in the UK.

He replaces Rendleman (pictured, right), who took on the role at the start of 2014. She is originally from Florida and has returned there to take on the role of director for the Partner Team Unit.

In a statement sent to CRN, Microsoft UK's general manager of small and mid-market solutions and partner group Clare Barclay said:

"Martin will be responsible for leading the partner strategy, programme and marketing at this pivotal time in the transformation to cloud services in the partner ecosystem in the UK.

"Martin brings a wealth of partner transformation and cloud experience to this important role. Most recently, Martin ran his own company supporting businesses and partners in how they transform their business to the cloud, having worked with more than 2,000 partners across 15 countries during the past five years. Prior to running his own business, Martin worked for Microsoft for 20 years across multiple leadership roles including running the cloud and enterprise business in Australia."
