Cisco's Warrior heads for Microsoft
Former Cisco CTO nominated to join Microsoft's board of directors
Former Cisco bigwig Padmasree Warrior is plotting a move to Microsoft.
In an announcement made last night, Microsoft said it has nominated Warrior (pictured) to join its board of directors along with Sandra Peterson, group chairman of medical firm Johnson & Johnson.
Warrior was Cisco's chief technology officer from 2008 until June this year, when she became a strategic adviser, before leaving last month.
She was already on the board of directors for tech company Box and a number of other firms during her time at Cisco, but if she is nominated to the Microsoft board, it will be her first appointment since leaving the networking giant.
The nominations will be presented at the annual shareholders' meeting on 2 December.
If elected, Microsoft's board will consist of 11 members - three women and eight men.
Microsoft's independent board chairman John Thompson said: "Sandra and Padmasree both offer strong technology expertise and business experience that will serve as valuable additions to the board."
