VIP Group in Top Track 250 list for fifth year
After reporting £227m in yearly sales the distributor bumped up 19 places to 127th
VIP Group announced that it has featured in the Sunday Times and Grant Thornton’s Top Track 250 list for the fifth year running.
Moving up 19 places from the previous year to 127th place, the distributor says its positioning on the list follows a strong financial year, which saw sales increase 11 per cent to £227m and operating profit hit £2.3m.
VIP Group is a Warrington-based independent distributor comprising VIP Computers, CMS Computers, VIP Miami LLC and Ergo Computing UK – which was acquired by the group in 2014.
Founded by Jatti Sahni, VIP Group distributes components and software for PCs, and operates across Europe and the US. The company pulled out of the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia regions in November 2014, to focus more on its core markets.
The distie joins in the rankings security vendor Kaspersky Labs, which placed 49th, and reseller Softcat, which came 23rd. Audiovisual distributor Midwich, which placed 87th on the back of its £281m revenues and comms provider Telent, which finished 65th, were among the other channel representatives.
The Top Track 250 ranks Britain’s leading private mid-market growth companies with the biggest sales.
Mike Taylor, finance director at VIP Computers, commented: “It is a great achievement for VIP Group and a fantastic accolade to be ranked alongside some of the UK’s biggest household names and most successful companies.
“We recognise the continuing strength of our vendor and customer relationships and the part these have played in helping us achieve our high listing within the Top Track 250 league table.
“We will continue working to ensure the VIP Group is well placed for the future. The strategic decisions we take and ongoing investments are focused to achieve growth plans for the long term,” he said.
