Fujitsu parts ways with UK channel boss
Vendor confirms Simon Worsfold has exited the hotseat after five years
Fujitsu says it will appoint a new UK channel boss in the next ten days following the departure of long-standing incumbent Simon Worsfold.
CRN understands that Worsfold's departure was announced to staff this morning.
He had held the role of UK channel and enterprise sales director for five years and been at Fujitsu for a decade in various director roles.
A representative confirmed he has left the PC, server and storage vendor.
"Fujitsu will be announcing a replacement within the next seven to 10 working days," added the representative, who was unable to comment further.
One distribution source, who wished to remain anonymous, said it was unclear why Worsfold had moved on.
"Fujitsu weren't flying but they're a tier-two vendor and you wouldn't have put your money on them flying either," they said. "I've no idea why Simon's gone. He is a really, really nice guy but I'm not sure what Fujitsu's expectations were on him or the numbers."
Dave Stevinson, managing director of Fujitsu distributor Entatech UK, described Fujitsu as a "great vendor with clarity of vision", adding that his firm will continue to increase its investment in the vendor.
"Simon was a channel champion with impeccable integrity; I enjoyed working with him immensely," Stevinson said.
