Symantec's UK boss exits after five months in role
Keith Bird "to pursue other opportunities in the industry"
Symantec's vice president of northern Europe Keith Bird has parted ways with the security vendor, CRN has learned.
"I have decided to leave the company and explore opportunities outside of Symantec," he told CRN.
The departure took place earlier this week, just five months after Bird left previous employer Check Point to take the role.
Symantec provided the following statement:
"Keith Bird, vice president and managing director of Northern Europe, has decided to leave Symantec to pursue other opportunities in the industry. Symantec appreciates his contributions to the company and wishes him well for the future."
Previously Bird held senior roles with Check Point, eSellerPro, Dell SonicWALL and Extreme Networks.
CRN sister publication Channelnomics Europe spoke with Bird earlier this month about Symantec's outlook following the selloff of its information management arm Veritas.
The news comes just a week after US channel publication CRN.com reported the departure of global sales boss Adrian Jones.
