Insight UK boss de Sousa heads for exit

UK & Ireland managing director is stepping down to join a cloud solutions firm next year, Insight confirms

Insight UK & Ireland managing director Emma de Sousa (pictured) is departing the reseller giant after 12 years to join an unnamed cloud firm.

Wolfgang Ebermann, EMEA president at Insight, confirmed in a statement that de Sousa will be stepping down from her role on 31 March 2016.

"She is leaving the UK business having overseen impressive performance in the last seven years - including its current six consecutive quarters of growth - and will be taking on a new challenge at a cloud solutions provider," Ebermann said.

"Over the next five months Emma will be working in partnership with me to select the right successor and implement a succession plan that ensures a smooth and efficient handover for the business, our partners, teammates and our customers."

Ebermann added: "She has played a fundamental role in the success and strategic direction of Insight in EMEA and I wish her success in her new role."

The announcement comes after Insight singled out the UK as a solid performer in its latest quarterly results. At a group level, the US-based firm saw net profit hike 20 per cent annually to $20.8m on revenues that rose eight per cent to $1.34bn in its Q3.
