Insight boss de Sousa gets Outsourcery gig

Emma de Sousa will join cloud provider next April after 12 years at Insight

Emma de Sousa will take up the post of managing director of Outsourcery after she relinquishes the reins of Insight's UK business next spring.

As reported by CRN, Insight announced yesterday that UK & Ireland managing director de Sousa is leaving the global reseller after 12 years to join an unnamed cloud solutions provider.

It has now emerged that the cloud services provider in question is Outsourcery, a Manchester-based Microsoft partner run by former Dragons' Den investor Piers Linney.

De Sousa (pictured) will take up the post of managing director of Outsourcery on 1 April 2016, with a primary focus on driving the AIM-listed firm's sales and marketing activity.

"There is a great opportunity ahead for our Skype for Business and IaaS solutions and I am confident Emma can drive our sales strategy in areas where Outsourcery has a clear competitive advantage," said Linney, who is Outsourcery's co-CEO.

For its fiscal first-half ending 30 June, Outsourcery managed to narrow EBITDA losses from £2.8m to £2.1m year on year on revenues that rose from £3.4m to £4.1m.

De Sousa's arrival comes after Outsourcery bagged a £1m investment from UKFast founder Lawrence Jones, making him the firm's third-largest shareholder.
