Computers Unlimited directors leave Exertis

Sales director and logistics director left last week, CRN understands

Two Computers Unlimited bigwigs have parted ways with owner Exertis as part of a staff rejig, according to sources.

CRN understands that Tony Scully, Computers Unlimited's sales director, and James Parker, logistics and procurement director at the firm, left last Thursday. Sources claim a small number of other staff - including those in HR - are on their way out too.

Apple distributor Computers Unlimited, which boasted a turnover of about £140m, was snapped up by Exertis back in May. It claimed the acquisition would allow it to help up-and-coming startups break into the UK channel.

Exertis refused to comment directly on the departure claims and said in a statement: "We have no specific comment at this time. We remain in a period of post-acquisition assessment."

Scully has been sales director at Computers Unlimited for 14 years and when contacted by CRN, he declined to comment.

Parker joined Computers Unlimited from Ingram last September. When contacted by CRN for comment, he did not respond.

At the end of last month, Exertis announced the arrival of Kevin Paterson as its new chief operating officer, claiming he would be tasked with spearheading its logistics strategy.
