Imerja flies high with aerospace contract win

VAR grabs contract to provide out-of-hours technical service desk support for aerospace firm Cross Manufacturing

Bolton-based VAR Imerja has beaten off stiff competition to win a deal to supply out-of-hours technical support for Cross Manufacturing.

The aerospace manufacturer was looking to move to a 24/7 production schedule due to an increased demand for its products, but also wanted to reduce the burden on its internal IT team.

Imerja is set to deliver a bespoke technical service desk (TSD) contract, built on its managed service desk offering, which includes monitoring and triaging faults, and escalating issues to appropriate groups and offering first-line fix where possible. It will cover out-of-hours support during the week and 24-hour cover at weekends, bank and public holidays.

Ian Jackson, managing director of Imerja, said: “Cross Manufacturing is known for combining technology with innovation to achieve world-class precision, so we are delighted to be part of the team, working alongside the company to monitor its infrastructure and relieve the burden of delivering out-of-hours support."

He added: “Our IT team is well versed in managing a variety of IT environments and they are looking forward to building a solid working relationship with the internal team over the next few years – as well as identifying other areas where we can offer service efficiencies and greater support.”

Jonathan Howe, IT manager at Cross Manufacturing, said: “With significant growth in demand we had to move to a full 24/7 production model – it was important we maintained high-quality IT support around the clock when making this change in our business, and the service promised by Imerja will be a perfect complement to our existing internal resource.”
