Alpha Gen says new ally's not all it SIEMs
BlackStratus overcomes ease-of-use and ease-of-deployment issues suffered by other SIEM technologies, distributor claims
Alpha Generation says its latest vendor signing, BlackStratus, will be a tonic for resellers that have suffered ease-of-deployment woes when deploying security information and event management (SIEM) technology.
The security VAD is in the process of signing up a small handful of resellers for BlackStratus after being appointed as its first UK distributor.
Alpha Gen director Chris Walsh said that despite being a virtual unknown in the UK channel, the New Jersey-based vendor has a strong legacy and "robust and scalable platform".
"SIEM technology is inherently difficult to deploy and manage and we think BlackStratus' ease of use and deployment, and functions and features, make it a viable product for partners," he added.
"A number of end users have invested in other SIEM technologies and still don't have a product that works 12 months later; whereas BlackStratus is something end users can deploy and use and ensure they get a return on their investment."
The SIEM market grew 11 per cent in 2014 to hit $1.6bn (£1bn), according to Gartner.
BlackStratus provides a suite of SIEM, log management and SIEM-as-a-service products. Each can be deployed in the cloud, on-premise or as a hybrid solution.
"Our multi-tenant SIEM technology lets MSPs and MSSPs meet that growing demand for SIEM services, at a price point that suits the mid-tier and SME market," said Terry Boazman, vice president of EMEA at BlackStratus.
Walsh (pictured) said Alpha Gen would work alongside BlackStratus, which counts Teneo among its existing local partners, as it undergoes its incubation period in the UK.
"They've not had a UK channel presence and that is what Terry is in the process of doing. We will work as an extension of them as we have done with Secunia, Thycotic and Corero."
