Citrix enlists ex-Micrososft veteran Seddik

Sherif Seddik moves to Citrix as its managing director and vice president for EMEA

Citrix has enlisted Microsoft veteran Sherif Seddik as its new managing director and vice president for EMEA.

Seddik, who will report to senior vice president of global sales Carlos Sartorius, will be in charge of Citrix's EMEA operations, "driving revenues, generating new business opportunities and cultivating the company's valued partner ecosystem," a company statement said.

He said he was attracted to Citrix's cloud-based strategy.

"I'm drawn to Citrix's vision and proven ability to connect people to apps and data on any device, platform and through the cloud," Seddik said. "Citrix offers such a unique value proposition and capability that allows customers to really take advantage of the promise of mobility and cloud computing."

Seddik joins Citrix from Microsoft, where he has worked since 2002, most recently as general manager of its enterprise and partner group for western Europe. In total he has 27 years' experience in the IT industry, including 14 years at point-of-sale vendor NCR Corporation.

Sartorius said he was delighted with the new appointment.

"Sherif's previous success in driving growth in a range of markets will be a great asset to the future success of Citrix business," he said. "He has experience with the channel, service provider and enterprise sales models. And he has consistently demonstrated an ability to grow and manage dynamic and large business in multi-lingual and cultural environments."
