Seagate hires former Lenovo exec as EMEA channel boss
Simon Chamberlain joins Seagate to build channel business across the region
Storage giant Seagate has appointed former Lenovo exec Simon Chamberlain (pictured) as its new EMEA channel boss.
Chamberlain is charged with developing Seagate's EMEA channel approach and "driving value across the various sectors including enterprise, surveillance and small and medium-sized businesses," the company said.
He joins Seagate from Lenovo, where he was most recently director of alliances and the enterprise division for EMEA. Prior to that, Chamberlain was EMEA sales director for four years at EMC and in total has 30 years' experience in the IT industry, including positions at HP and Xerox, according to his LinkedIn page.
Chamberlain said: "This is an exciting time for Seagate and the storage industry. With a broad product portfolio and a strong commitment to building and maintaining relationships with existing and potential partners, I'm very delighted to be leading the EMEA channel business."
Sofocles Socratous, vice president of EMEA sales and marketing at Seagate, said the appointment will be essential to the firm's channel growth.
"We're excited Simon is joining us to lead this important function for the regional sales organisation," he said. "Our partner ecosystem is a key asset of huge strategic importance to Seagate. Simon will help us to pursue our ambition of driving increased growth within our EMEA channel business and develop long-term, mutually valuable relationships with our channel partners."
