Today's new product announcements will help partners close more sales, says EMEA channel boss

New hybrid cloud capabilities announced today by EMC will help partners close more sales, according to EMEA channel boss Philippe Fosse.

EMC today lifted the veil on "newly integrated and extended cloud capabilities" across the breadth of its entire storage and data protection portfolio.

The storage giant positioned its improved ability to help customers tier between private and public clouds as the centrepiece of the announcement.

On this front, EMC said it has further extended the integration reach of VMAX with enhancements to its FAST.X tiering solution. This will enable customers to slash total cost of ownership by automatically tiering to public clouds from both EMC and non-EMC storage, the vendor claimed.

Among the other announcements topping the bill were the introduction of CloudBoost 2.0, which EMC said can extend customers' existing EMC data protection solutions to "elastic, resilient", scale-out storage. This, it said, will enable them to "leverage the economic benefits of the public cloud for long-term data retention".

Fosse, who is vice president EMEA channels at EMC, said the new additions to EMC's portfolio will "help partners close sales" by enabling them to sell "integrated hybrid cloud infrastructure that will support their data needs well into the future".

"Businesses are challenging our partners to provide them with flexible IT environments that combine the best of public and private clouds," he said.

"Today's wave of EMC product news provides partners with an enhanced and future-proof hybrid cloud offering to take to customers, one that can provide rapid, cost-effective scale to meet growing data requirements."
