SystemFlip calls for channel backup with Cloud signing

Back-up and disaster recovery vendor appoints Cloud Distribution as first distributor

Cloud Distribution has the likes of Barracuda, Commvault and Datto in its sights as it takes latest vendor signing, backup and disaster recovery vendor SystemFlip, to market.

SystemFlip, which is part of UK-based cloud services company Tivarri, has signed Cloud as its first distributor and the duo are now looking to recruit six specialist storage and virtualisation partners.

Bruce Hockin, director of storage solutions at Cloud Distribution, claimed no other vendor can integrate both onsite and offsite backup and disaster recovery on one management system.

"And the value proposition around that is the customer has a complete [data protection] solution managed from one pain of glass," Hockin said.

"Midmarket organisations don't have the big IT admin functions to try to work out how these integrate and how to manage these components. That's a big risk."

Hockin said SystemFlip sits above Barracuda, which he billed as an SME play, and below Commvault in the enterprise.

"SystemFlip is slap bang in the midmarket. We do see Datto in this space, although they are priced very differently," he said.

In a statement, SystemFlip managing director Simon Ponsford said: "Until now effective backup and disaster recovery has required system integration and significant professional services to fail over and recover back from serious IT issues. SystemFlip handles all of the offsite disaster recovery and the 24-hour support that demands.

"We are thrilled to be working with Cloud Distribution who have a similar market disrupting ethos as ourselves."
