VMware's UK boss steps into European role
David Parry-Jones to replace Matt Piercy
VMware's David Parry-Jones has left his UK role at the firm and taken over the Northern Europe job recently vacated by Matt Piercy.
CRN reported last Thursday that Piercy is leaving his job as vice president for Northern EMEA for an EMEA-wide role at cloud security firm Zscaler. He will take on the new job in January.
Piercy will be replaced at VMware by Parry-Jones (pictured), who until now had run the UK business as vice president and general manager for UK and Ireland.
A VMware spokesperson said in a statement to CRN: "We thank Matt for his relentless energy and contribution in growing the Northern European region over the past 10-plus years and wish him well for the future.
"We are pleased to confirm that David Parry-Jones, our vice president of UK and Ireland, will assume responsibilities for the region and has been appointed as vice president and general manager for VMware's Northern European operations."
Parry-Jones has been at VMware since 2012 when he joined from Microsoft, where he held a number of roles over seven years including head of the UK and France businesses and leading the enterprise partner group.
