Lenovo nabs ex-HP man to run EMEA channel

Lenovo names Pascal Bourguet as new VP of EMEA channel following departure of Vincent Fauquenot

Lenovo has poached HP exec Pascal Bourguet (pictured) as its new vice president of EMEA products and channel.

Vincent Fauquenot, who held the position into which Bourguet is moving, left Lenovo in October to "pursue other opportunities", a representative from Lenovo confirmed to CRN.

Bourguet is not the first HP executive to defect to Lenovo in recent months, with Eric Cador, HP's former head of EMEA PC business, moving to the Chinese giant as president of EMEA in May.

Cador said he is delighted with his latest recruit.

"Pascal brings a fantastic track record of leadership that I am looking forward to welcoming to our team in the new year," he said. "His experience speaks for itself, but his passion and approach to doing business will be a fantastic addition to our EMEA management team."

Bourguet was at HP for 14 years, most recently as EMEA vice president for consumer PC business. Before HP, he worked at Philips in France for five years.

Loay Lawrence, commercial director at Lenovo reseller Vohkus, said he was pleased with the appointment of Bourguet.

"I have worked with him, he is a fantastic guy and he will do well there; he did really well at HP," he said. "He knows the channel really well, he knows the products really well, he is a great marketer and he is going to be an asset for them."

News of the appointment follows ex-Toshiba exec Andy Bass moving in to head Lenovo's UK channel in September, as CRN revealed.

An HP representative confirmed that Bourguet has now left HP but did not have any further comment.

Bourguet is set to join Lenovo on 1 March 2016.
