Webroot hails 'substantial' Q1 channel growth

Security vendor claims it added 700 new MSP partners in Q1 F2016

Security vendor Webroot has claimed it has seen "substantial increase in channel and MSP partnerships" in its Q1 F2016, with 700 new MSP partners added globally in this quarter.

The vendor, which delivers next-generation end-point protection for a variety of devices, has previously indicated to CRN its intention to push more of its business through the channel, and it is now claiming its partner base is expanding rapidly.

The vendor highlighted its new partnership with UK distributor Distology, among other new global partners added in the quarter which ended 30 September 2015.

As well as talking up its channel growth, Webroot said its new bookings were up for the first quarter of its fiscal 2016, with OEM bookings up 29 per cent year over year and consumer bookings up 16 per cent year over year.

Dick Williams, Webroot CEO, said the latest results were very encouraging for the Colorado-headquartered firm.

"Our first-quarter double-digit revenue growth demonstrates a significant shift in the industry to adopt our Smarter Cybersecurity approach," he said.

"Building on the record growth we posted in FY15, we have started FY16 with strong results in all segments and in all regions. We enter this quarter with solid pipelines in all segments and with new product offerings that will enable us to ramp up throughout the remainder of the year."
