SCC gets the cream with 'major' Devon MPS win
Services giant wins deal to supply public sector organisations across the entire region
SCC’s managed print division has bagged a "major" managed print services (MPS) contract with Devon County Council.
Under the terms of the deal, which is for an undisclosed sum, SCC won two Lots: to provide and maintain 550 devices, and to become the preferred supplier of MPS to local authority, education, healthcare and EMS organisations across the region.
The deal follows a £1.5m investment by SCC in its MPS division, which was boosted with its acquisition of M2 last February.
John Taylor, chief executive of M2, said: “Organisations are realising the value of managed print in driving down cost, waste, and risk. With the growing technical, complex nature of managed print, finding quality, service excellence, and a trusted partner is essential.
“In the case of Devon County Council, SCC had to solve the main challenges of managing a multi-vendor fleet of MFDs and printers, requiring pedigree, local and national capability, and a strong overall MPS business.”
Since M2 became part of SCC, the firm has boasted "record" growth and an "unprecedented" number of customer wins since the acquisition.
Andrew Mappin, M2’s sales director for public sector and production print, added: “Our recent growth has been exceptional, driven through multi-year managed service contracts. And we are delighted to have won this contract with Devon County Council.
“We feel best placed to serve Devon County Council and public sector organisations across the regions – a huge return on the investment in our regional network.”
